A core team of two multimedia artists (Terry Braun and Gabi Braun) and a medical physicist (Dr Margaret O'Hara), supported by additional project team
members (software developer, Arpad Ray; medical imaging advisor, Dr Stuart Green), are collaborating to
Research and Develop new ways of producing dynamic computer visualisations and sonifications of disease diagnosis via breath.
Reflecting the
thirty different diseases and conditions potentially diagnosable by Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometry, this project aims to explore the
diagnosis of human breath. The R&D results will be published on this website, and
form the basis for this work’s further development into a multiplatform, multi-audience arts project.
This R&D work may also be useful to medical practitioners and the public to further their understanding of:
The function of these new non-invasive diagnostic tools
The importance of early diagnosis and the hidden functions of human breath.
