WHO WE ARE

Bee Arts Community Interest Company produces and runs creative and educational projects in the performing arts and new media for the benefit of a wide range of communities. Bee Arts was established in early 2007 by BAFTA award-winning multimedia producers Terry Braun and Gabi Braun, who are the company directors.

The DARK was conceived and produced by Terry Braun & Gabi Braun in collaboration with the writer Maria Oshodi and composer Rob Godman. The DARK is one of Terry and Gabi Braunís most exciting projects, having done two successful UK tours:

1. During the first tour in 2004/2005, funded by Culture Online/DCMS, the twenty minute show of The DARK installation toured museums and galleries in London, Sheffield, Birmingham and Liverpool, successfully engaging the imaginations of the more than 50,000 attendees, from families with pre-school children through to pensioners.

2. During the second tour, 2007/2008, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, The Dark Heritage tour of two-hour workshops contributed to the nationwide commemorations of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act in 1807, by bringing a series of specially created participatory drama workshops to London, Ipswich, Gloucester, Norwich, Hertfordshire and Manchester.

During the Dark Heritage 2007 tour 475 drama workshop sessions were produced for over 10,000 visitors and participants. The Dark Heritage workshops were created by Gabi Braun, Maria Oshodi, Terry Braun and Gail Molloy in association with the teachers and children of Kingswood Primary School in London.
