A sample of what visitors to Dark Heritage said about their experience in Hertfordshire:

A completely different experience. Quite necessary but unsettling. The creaking deck makes the whole experience real.

Tremendously moving, totally absorbing.

This experience was like nothing I have ever experienced before. I found it very sad but also very real.

Fantastic. So real and intense. I have never experienced anything like it. It was amazing to create somehting so brilliant. It was scary at points but thank you very much.

Leaves a deep impact on the imagination.

Enveloping, engaging, embracing. Very interesting; need a second deluge to fully absorb it. Thanks.

A most thought provoking experience and an effective way to teach us all more about the horrors of the slave trade. How we need to learn more about how we treat each other! Thank you for such a meaningful exhibition. Very well introduced amd cared or by the dark staff.
